    MOVED TO A TEMPORARY LOCATION

    The Utah Historical Society’s Library and Collection section has moved to a new, temporary location (pictured below) at 7292 S. State Street in Midvale, UT.

    SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT

    Appointments are available Tuesday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Researchers wanting to visit can schedule an appointment by calling (801) 245-7227 or emailing staff at historyresearch@utah.gov.

    ARE STATE ARCHIVES MANAGED BY THE UTAH HISTORICAL SOCIETY?

    No. Utah government records are accessible through the Utah State Archives, located at 346 S. Rio Grande Street in Salt Lake City, UT. To contact State Archives for information requests or for in-person research appointments, email archivesreference@utah.gov.

    CAN I SUBMIT AN INFORMATION REQUEST?

    Yes. Call (801) 245-7227 or submit a request online via the “Ask A Question” form.

    ITEM DONATIONS ARE ACCEPTED

    Item donations are accepted. Those items may be letters, diaries, maps, artifacts, recordings and more. Born digital items, such as files from a digital camera, are also considered for donation. We are dedicated to protecting these precious objects. If you'd like to donate an item, or if you'd like to learn more about the process, start here:
