Library Certification & Recertification

New Public Library Certification

All Utah public libraries are eligible to apply for certification after they have been established by city, county, or governing body for at least three years. The deadline for submitting an application for new library certification is September 1.

Recertification of Existing Libraries

Part 1: Basic Recertification Standards – REQUIRED

You must complete the required survey for library recertification.

Part 2 – Key Statistical Benchmarks (2011)

A State Library Consultant will discuss these with the library director.

Part 3 – Quality Profile – Optional

If the library director opts to participate in the Quality Library Designation, you will need to submit your information.
