Global Youth Service Day is an annual campaign to mobilize millions of children and youth locally and globally to improve their communities through service and volunteering. It is the only day of service dedicated to children and youth celebrated each year in over 100 countries.
The Utah Commission on Volunteers (UCOV) is proud to be a lead agency in Utah for Global Youth Service Day 2013. We are partnering with oragnizations to find service oppotunities for youth. The goal is to increase the number of youth who serve in meaningful roles as volunteers dedicated to addressing important needs in communities across Utah.
The goal of these grants is to increase the number of youth serving as volunteers to address important needs in communities across Utah. The grants will be awarded to organizations to create projects that occur ideally between April 26-28, 2013, (though anytime between April 13 to April 28 will qualify) celebrating Global Youth Service Day. Volunteers must be ages 8 to 24 to meet Global Youth Service Day requirements.
Grant amounts will be $300 and will be awarded based on the number of youth volunteers that are engaged in your Global Youth Service Day project with a minimum of 100 required.
