New Regional Conferences throughout the State
The annual statewide Lt. Governor’s Conference on Service were divided into four regions in 2013. After a series of meetings with volunteer centers and nonprofits throughout the state, it was decided that regional conferences would allow more nonprofits the option of attending if the event was closer to home and registration fees were reduced.
The regions for the Conference on Service and Volunteerism were:
- Northern Region: Box Elder, Cache, Weber, Rich and Morgan Counties
- Central Region: Tooele, Davis, Salt Lake, Summit, Wasatch, and Utah Counties
- Southern Region: Juab, Sanpete, Millard, Sevier, Beaver, Piute, Wayne, Iron, Garfield, Washington, and Kane Counties
- Eastern Region: Duchesne, Daggett, Uintah, Carbon, Emery, Grand, and San Juan Counties
The state’s regional gatherings of volunteer and service leaders from the nonprofit, government and corporate sectors allowed participants to learn, connect, and be inspired through a wide range of exciting and informative discussions, workshops, and panels. Attendees could attend one or all of the conferences. Keynotes and workshops varied, depending on the region.
