Regional Conferences throughout the State
The annual statewide Lt. Governor’s Conference on Service was divided into four regions in 2013. After a series of meetings with volunteer centers and nonprofits throughout the state, it was decided that regional conferences would allow more nonprofits the option of attending if the event was closer to home and registration fees were reduced.
The regions for the Conference on Service and Volunteerism were:
- Northern Region: Box Elder, Cache, Weber, Rich and Morgan Counties
- Central Region: Tooele, Davis, Salt Lake, Summit, Wasatch, and Utah Counties
- Southern Region: Juab, Sanpete, Millard, Sevier, Beaver, Piute, Wayne, Iron, Garfield, Washington, and Kane Counties
- Eastern Region: Duchesne, Daggett, Uintah, Carbon, Emery, Grand, and San Juan Counties
The state’s regional gatherings of volunteer and service leaders from the nonprofit, government and corporate sectors allowed participants the opportunity to learn, connect, and be inspired through a wide range of exciting and informative discussions, workshops, and panels. Keynotes and workshops varied, depending on the region.
Eastern Region Conference
The Eastern Region Conference on Service was hosted in Price. This conference featured speakers from around the region on topics including volunteer roles, volunteer recognition opportunities, and partnering with media.

It is my great hope that this conference meets four specific goals: Learn best practices, strategies and new ways of doing business from the state’s best thinkers and practitioners of service and volunteering; Connect with peers, experts and leaders from the business, government, faith-based and nonprofit sectors; Be Inspired by dynamic speakers and stimulating forums, workshops, panel discussions and keynote speakers; Make an Impact by participating in service projects and honoring those who have made significant contributions to our communities through their volunteer and service efforts.
I hope you enjoy your experience and gain knowledge during the conference by
recharging, engaging and bringing back new ideas and energy to strengthen the reach
and impact of your organization.
Yours in Service,
Greg Bell, Lieutenant Governor
