This collection was created by the Historical Society staff to serve as a self-indexing, self-service, collection of the best photographs from the Society's collections.
The classified collection consists of mounted prints made from original photographs taken from other collections, plus some originals. Most are 8x10 black-and-white images.
The collection is divided into approximately 300 classifications based on the Dewey Decimal System. Prints in each class are arranged alphabetically by topical subjects and thereunder by a print number beginning with p. 1. The container list below lists all of the classifications and some of the topics within each.
