SALT LAKE CITY— Utah Arts & Museums is pleased to announce that Museum Grants are now open in amounts ranging from $500 – $15,000. Last year, Utah Arts & Museums granted over $300,000 in museum support funds. Museum grants are intended to improve professionalism and best practices in Utah Museums by providing funds to assist in the care for artifacts, manage collections, develop quality exhibitions and educational resources, and increase public access to museums. The application deadline is Jan. 29, 2016. Grant guidelines are available at artsandmuseums.utah.gov.
Gay Cookson, Director of the Utah Division of Arts & Museums notes that, “Utah museums provide so many memorable experiences for Utah children and families. Our museums exhibit and protect great collections, while documenting the culture of Utah–our people, landscapes, and traditions. We are delighted to have the opportunity to support Utah museums with our Museum Grant program.”
