Performing Arts Booking Conference Support – Utah Artists & Presenters

The Performing Arts Program provides funding support for professional presenters or performing artists to attend annual booking conferences. Booking conferences are gathering places for performing arts professionals.  These conferences provide opportunities for performing artists to market their art to presenters who are looking to bring performance to their communities. Booking conferences are also exceptional opportunities for artists to obtain professional development and network with other professionals in the field.

TourWest, WESTAF – Yearly Deadline April 1st

TourWest is a competitive grant program that provides subsidies to arts and community organizations for the presentation of out-of-state touring performing and literary artists. Projects must take place between September 1 and August 31. All projects must have one public performance and one educational outreach activity. TourWest standard performance grants are available in an amount of up to $2,500 or 50% of the artistic fees, whichever is less. Applicants may apply for up to two standard performance grants. Applications can be found on the WESTAF website.

OnStage in Utah – Closed – Next Deadline June 2016

OnStage in Utah recognizes the important role presenters play in linking performing artists with Utah audiences. Funding is available to Utah Presenters to support a public performance with a separate community engagement activity of an in-state or out-of-state performing artist. OnStage in Utah funding is available in an amount of up to $2,000 or 50% of the artistic fees, whichever is less.

Free Online Artist Training in Arts and Aging
– National Center for Creative Again NCCA_DSC1001

The NCCA Online Artist Training in Arts and Aging, funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, The Michelson Foundation, and MetLife Foundation, is a free online course for teaching artists interested in learning how to lead lifelong learning programs in the arts that engage older people as creators. This self-guided training offers an introduction to philosophy, key concepts, methods, and current research from the field of arts in aging. It introduces readers to the life story-based methods developed by Susan Perlstein and Elders Share the Arts, as well as several other approaches and techniques, offering an array of exercises and case studies that exemplify the work that is happening in the field today.

Utah Presenters is a network of organizations that bring performing arts events to their communities. Presenters connect with each other to foster collaboration, arrange block booking, provide professional development training, mentor and share best practices, and raise public awareness of the value of arts in communities.
