SALT LAKE CITY— Utah Arts & Museums announces Local Arts Agency grants, available to designated organizations meeting the artistic and cultural needs of their community. Last year, UA&M granted over $100,000 in Local Arts Agency funds. These grants provide general operating support to ensure that the cultural, civic, educational, and economic benefits of the arts are accessible to every community in the state. Local Arts Agencies can be nonprofit or local government organizations. These grants require that organizations to have a current Local Arts Agency Designation Agreement with their city or county municipality. The application deadline is February 26, 2016. Grant requests can be up to $15,000.
“Local Arts Agencies provide essential services to communities throughout the state” said Gay Cookson, Director of Utah Arts & Museums. “This funding opportunity empowers Local Arts Agencies to cultivate and support a variety of community-level arts initiatives including arts education programs, stewarding a community’s art collection, running a cultural facility, and re-granting, among other activities and services. As Utah’s State Arts Agency, we are proud to offer this important funding to support community arts.”
